How to solve logic puzzles in five steps
- Read every clue before writing anything. Scan the whole puzzle first. The clue that unlocks it is rarely the first one you read.
- Write down what must be true. Mark the facts a clue forces directly. In a grid, that is a single tick; in a number puzzle, a confirmed relationship.
- Eliminate what cannot be true. Every confirmed fact removes options elsewhere. Elimination solves more logic puzzles than positive deduction does.
- Test one rule across the whole shape. Found a candidate rule? Check it against every known value. A rule that fails once is the wrong rule.
- Verify before you commit. Re-read the clues against your answer. A solution that satisfies all constraints is the only correct one.
